Strokeis one of the life-threatening emergencies that is caused by ashortage in blood supply all the way to the human brain (Baker,2008). The shortage in blood supply can be as a result of a burstblood vessel or clotting of blood. When there is an insufficientsupply of blood due to a burst blood vessel or clotting of blood tothe brain part, the resulting effect would be difficulty in movement, speech, loss of consciousness and perception (Goldstein, 2004). Belowis my flyer creation for stroke prevention.
PREVENT STROKE SAVE A LIFE.
Feed on a healthy diet that is well balanced.
Maintain an average healthy weight.
Moderate alcohol consumption and no smoking.
Do regular and enough exercises.
Lower the salt intake
Control and manage some medical situations like high diabetes, blood pressure, high levels of heart disease and cholesterol.
Strokeis simply prevented by choosing a healthy living lifestyle (Tyrrell,2012). My post is in a form of a flyer. The actual media piece fromwhere I gathered some of the facts was in the form of a strokeprevention flyer too. Below is the actual flyer
Asstated, stroke is a medical emergency that people need to be welleducated about. Stroke can affect anyone irrespective of age. Howeverit is more risky to a patient population of those who are aged. Whenone is young, the natural cause of childhood makes one to often livean active life but as one ages, he or she tends to live a sedentarylifestyle.
Theuse of a flyer describing the prevention of stroke is suitable insaving a patient population of the aged- those above sixty years andhave probably retired. This is so because flyers can be easilydistributed to specific places where the aged can get access to readthem. People who are over sixty years could have difficulty accessinginternet due to their age factor. Therefore, the flyers being in hardcopy can be distributed to their homes for them to practice and livethe active lifestyle.
